A 72-hole stroke play event for players under 18, capped at 156 competitors (78 boys, 78 girls), run during the June/July school holidays. It counts as an R&A World Amateur Ranking, Golf Australia National Order of Merit (Junior) and Queensland State Order of Merit (Junior) event.

Hosted at Nudgee Golf Club in Brisbane, the championship's past field has included Karrie Webb, Greg Norman, Cameron Smith, Adam Scott and Jason Day earlier in their careers. Entry details and current dates are published via Golf Australia's Queensland pages ahead of each year's event.
