Junior coaching and competitions are usually run by a specific coach or junior convenor who reports into the broader club structure, rather than being a fully separate operation. Getting to know that person directly is usually the fastest way to understand what's actually available for your child.
Do I need to understand golf myself to fit in as a golf parent?
Not at all - plenty of highly involved golf parents don't play themselves. Being friendly, reliable, and willing to ask questions goes much further than golf knowledge when it comes to fitting into a club community.
