Golf Australia sets the national programs; states deliver them locally

Golf Australia runs the national junior framework - MyGolf as the entry point, junior interstate and national squads further along - but day-to-day delivery happens through the state and territory member associations: Golf NSW, Golf Victoria, Golf Queensland, Golf SA, Golf WA, Golf Tasmania and the ACT and NT bodies. Each runs its own junior pennant competitions, junior masters or championship events, and talent pathways feeding into state squads.

Club membership isn't always required to start

Many state junior pathways are designed so a child doesn't need full club membership to take part in early programs - MyGolf sessions and come-and-try days are typically open to non-members. Club membership tends to become more relevant once a junior wants to play in club competitions and pennant, or wants regular access to a home course to practice.

Talent pathways exist beyond club and pennant golf

For juniors showing more advanced ability, most states run identification and development squads that feed toward national junior squads and, eventually, Golf Australia's broader elite pathway. These programs are typically by invitation or trial rather than open entry, based on results in state and national junior events.
